It doesn’t matter what you are working on, when you are working on a show or project as an artist, the work becomes a kind of lens in which to look at the world… and sometimes, I guess when you’re doing it right, the world slowly starts to give you answers to your art. You don’t have to look too hard.

‎”And if all that is too daunting, too rapidly changing, too out-of-focus, then you can focus your cultural lens on what’s inside you. You can paint and dance about your specific demons and ghosts-about that creeping alienation you seem to feel every day you wake up to a world that seems perpetually out of control.”
